Getting ready for Online class

The ongoing spread of COVID-19 is a concern for many fitness facilities and Pilates studios around the world. Thankfully, we live in the time when technology to live stream fitness classes or record workouts for the clients is widely available.

We have chosen a Zoom video conferencing software to stream our meetings. It allows us to virtually interact with each other when in-person classes are not possible.

All our sessions are live and not pre-recorded.

A Zoom Meeting is just a video conferencing meeting that is hosted via Zoom and accessed through the Zoom app.

Join with video ie your camera enabled or just audio or both. To join you need the unique meeting ID created when we set up the classes. It will be sent to you by email.

You only need to download the meeting application from Zoom – ‘Zoom Client for Meetings.’ Optionally you may wish to register and create a free account with Zoom – use your personal email. If you register with them then sign in and test your audio connection before the class start time.

Await the invite. We are so pleased you are joining us – but in order for all of us to have a refreshing and relaxing experience it is necessary for you to ensure that your microphone is on MUTE throughout the class, which is easily located in the bottom left hand corner of your screen.

The exception to this is at the beginning and end of the class we will all say hello with microphone on UNMUTE, so that there is a feeling of being together in the practice, so we will UNMUTE on arrival and then MUTE during the class.

At the end of the class you will again be invited to UNMUTE – so we can say goodbye.

To join the class. Open the zoom application and select ‘join a meeting’. When prompted enter the meeting ID and the password that the instructor has sent you via email.

Please join the meeting 5 minutes before the class start time. The meetings are set-up by Zoom to start with participants cameras turned off and their microphone muted.

Note the quality of the picture and sound will be much better from a laptop or PC, consider also connecting to a TV or Monitor – a mobile phone may be very small and the sound quality much less.

To pin the instructor's video feed to be the on in view, hover over the picture of the teacher, 3 dots will appear at the top right of the picture, click these, in the drop down menu that appears, choose ‘PIN video’.

We appreciate your feedback. For us this is all new and we are learning as we go along. Kindly take time to send us a short email afterwards and let us know what you thought.

Looking forward to connecting with you in this different way and thank you for joining us!
